Canadain ShelterBox Response Team member Ron Noseworthy from the Rotary Club of Kenora is in Van, a city close to the epicenter of the earthquake in Turkey to arrange delivery of ShelterBoxes containing emergency aid, including tented shelter, warm clothes and water purification.   The ShelterBox Respone Team is working with the Turkish Red Crescent Society and local Rotary clubs to ensure that aid gets to those in most need as quickly as possible.

Hundreds of lives have been lost, with many more injured and thousands left homeless by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake. ShelterBox tents, which are uniquely designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, include a thermal layer for extra insulation.  Each green ShelterBox supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent, blankets and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.
In addition to the response to the devastating earthquake, volunteer ShelterBox Response Teams are delivering aid following humanitarian crises in Thailand and continues to work in partnership with other relief agencies to distribute aid in the Horn of Africa.
ShelterBox responds instantly to natural and manmade disasters around the world by delivering boxes of aid to those in greatest need.  Since 2000 ShelterBox has provided shelter, warmth and dignity to thousands of people following more than 150 disasters in more than 70 countries.
