The District 5550 Conference 2016 “Be a Gift to the World-Infinite Possibilities” will be held in Gimli, Manitoba, May 12th to 15th.  
 
 
The conference will start Thursday evening with an informal reception at the Lakeview Hotel and Conference Center. 
 
We have two full days of informative sessions, Rotary business and fellowship finishing with the District Governor's Gala, this year combined with the Million Dollar Dinner on Saturday night. 
 
There will be time for golf on Thursday afternoon and time to learn more about the diverse culture of Gimli, visit the Viking, check out our heritage sites and visit some of the wonderful shops in our community.
 

Two Keynote Speakers have been confirmed.  They are:

Diane Redsky
 
Diane Redsky, Executive Director at Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc. (The name Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata translates from Ojibway into the phrase, “we all work together to help one another.”) Before joining Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre she was Project Director of Human Trafficking Task Force, the Canadian Women’s Foundation. Diane is a strong advocate for Aboriginal children and women in Canada, and received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for her work on addressing violence against Aboriginal women in Canada. In 2013, Diane spoke on the issue of Human Trafficking of Canadian girls before the UN Commission on the Status of Women and was inducted into the Order of Manitoba for her leadership and contributions.

Jeanne Martinson
 
Jeanne Martinson, M.A., is a diversity strategist, professional speaker, trainer and best-selling author who has worked internationally and throughout Canada. Since co-founding her own firm, MARTRAIN Corporate and Personal Development in 1993, Jeanne has inspired thousands of participants in her workshops and keynote presentations with her humour, insight and real-world examples. Jeanne’s newest book, Generation Y and the New Work Ethic explores one of the biggest issues in today’s workplace and for not for profit organizations– intergenerational conflict and engaging younger generations.
